Constitution of Messianic Orphanage, Widows and Children Foundation

 

PREAMBLE
We, the members and staff of the ‘Messianic Orphanage, Widows and Children’s Foundation’ (MOWCF), hereby declare on December, 12th 2013 the establishment of this constitution and bylaws in order to fully realize our purpose of assisting, seeking and addressing the emotional, spiritual, physical and educational needs of underprivileged orphans, widows and children residing within the republic of Liberia.

 

Mission

The aim of our foundation is to achieve transformation by providing self-help initiatives, relief, and assistance to orphans and war-affected children and widows by way of orphanages, foster homes/orphanage homes, vocational training and evangelism.

 

ARTICLE 1: NAME
There is hereby established an organization to be recognized and known as Messianic Orphanage, Widows and Children Foundation.
The organization will be founded in Zwedru Grand Gedeh County but have its headquarters Monrovia. Otherbranches may be established in Liberia as members shall deem it necessary
The Organization shall be a non-governmental and non-profitable organization and shall operate exclusively for improving the living conditions of orphans, widows and war-affected children residing in the republic of Liberia.

 

ARTICLE 2: OBJECTIVES
2.1 To propagate the Messianic/Hebraic faith in obedience to the great commission of Yeshua the Messiah
2.2 To offer moral guidance and services to persons including children, youth and adults
2.3 To establish orphanage homes/children’s foster homes and take care of war affected children in the communities
2.4 To apply for donations and support from religious organizations, government authorities and public organizations.
2.5 To operate a revolving micro-finance plan for poverty eradication among society, members and widows
2.6 To establish and operate educational institution to promote academic excellence
2.7 To educate and give necessary training to orphans and war affected children in order to expand their knowledge of God
2.8 To improve career opportunities by using both resources available in the community as well as teaching materials and resources.
2.9 To obey rules and regulations of the Republic of Liberia.

 

ARTICLE 3: AFFILIATION WITH OTHER GROUPS
3.0 This foundation is associated with Messianic Assembly of Yahweh-Liberia and Heart of Messiah

 

ARTICLE 4: MEMBERSHIP
4.1 Messianic Orphanage, Widow and Children Foundation welcomes Liberian citizens and foreigners of both sexes about 18 years of age and with employment opportunities within the organization where such people have proven to have good will and honestly to contribute to the organization development in areas of their specialty.
4.2 All members/employees of Messianic Orphanage, Widow and Children Foundation shall comply with these statutes (Constitution) internal regulations and provision.

 

ARTICLE 5: RIGHT AND OBLIGATIONS OF MEMBERS:
5.1 Participate fully in the proceedings and activities of the organization
5.2 To avail oneself to the organizational facilities prescribed at periodic member meetings.
5.3 Be identified in the register of members of the organization.
5.4 Members shall abide by the letter and spirit of this constitution; this shall be the supreme law of the project.

 

ARTICLE 6: WITHDRAWAL OF MEMBERSHIP/RESIGNATION
Members of the Messianic Orphanage, Widow and Children Foundation may lose their members in the following case:
a. Death
b. Written Resignation
c. Failure to comply with the organization statutes and internal regulations
d. Being guilty of committing any criminal act contrary to the state’s laws.

 

ARTICLE 7: LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE:
Messianic Orphanage, Widows and Children Foundation shall have the following leadership structure:
a. International Coordinator
b. National Coordinator
c. Executive Secretary
d. Project Coordinator
e. Agriculture Officer
f. Treasure

 

ARTICLE 8: OBLIGATIONS OF LEADERSHIP:
8.1 INTERNATIONAL COORDINATOR:
a. Shall head all other persons of the organization both International and National.
b. Shall update and report to donors annually.

 

8.2 NATIONAL COORDINATOR:
a. Shall head all other persons of the organization at a national level.
b. Shall send quarterly report to International Coordinator
c. Coordinator shall act in accordance with the advice of the Board of Directors and International Coordinator. He can, however, also act in accordance with the advice of any other person or authority.
d. Shall appoint chairperson of the Board of Directors

 

8.3 THE TREASURE:
a. The Treasurer keeps proper and updated records and accounts of all incomes and expenditures of the Foundation.
b. To make available to Board of Directors records and accounts of the Foundation upon request.
c. Perform other duties from time to time as specified by the Foundation

 

8.4 THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY:
a. In the absence of the National Coordinator, the Executive Secretary shall take over and assume the head of the organization.
b. Shall keep all records of the Foundation

 

8.5 THE PROJECT COORDINATOR:
a. The Project Coordinator supports all programs of Messianic Orphanage, Widows and Children Foundation.
b. Shall support the implementation of all approved projects under the relevant programs

 

6.6 AGRICULTURE OFFICER:
The Agriculture officer supervises all Agricultural Activities of Messianic Orphanage, Widows and Children Foundation including all agricultural projects carried out by Messianic Orphanage, Widows and Children Foundation including collaborating with the Program Coordinator in development of Agricultural projects.

 

ARTICLE 9: BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
9.1 The national Coordinator shall appoint the chairperson of the Board.
9.2 The board of directors shall be made up of four members (4).
9.3 They shall play the role advisors and stabilizers.
9.4 They shall appoint other committees.

 

ARTICLE 10: FINANCES:
10.1 The Foundation’s treasurer shall be responsible for day-to-day book keeping of the Foundation.
10.2 A banking account in the name of ‘Messianic Orphanage, Widows and Children Foundation’ will be opened and maintained with a commercially recognized bank.
10.3 All monies received by the Foundation must be paid to the established bank account.
10.4 The following shall be signatory to every financial transaction:
a. National Coordinator
b. Executive Secretary
c. Treasurer

 

ARTICLE 11: PROJECTS:
11.1 The organization shall undertake projects to fulfill and promote its aim and objectives.
11.2 .Project coordinators shall be appointed for each project or programs.
11.3 Project coordinators shall submit reports on projects and programs upon request by the Board of Directors.

 

ARTICLE 12: AMENDMENT
Amendment of the constitution shall be determined by the Board of Directors.

The Messianic Orphanage Widows and Children’s Foundation (MOWCF) is a Liberian registered non profit non government organization. MOWCF works in random with Heart of Messiah  a US based religious organization.
